Liberal Judaism’s Rabbi Dr René Pfertzel paid a special visit to Mosaic Jewish Primary School, a thriving cross-communal school in South London.
René, who is rabbi at Kingston Liberal Synagogue (KLS), was a guest of acting head Nerissa Bear and Judy Thwaites, an associate governor, founding steering group member and congregant at KLS.
René met the school’s Torah team, the pupils who help to organise Jewish practices such as grace before and after meals and weekly Kabbalat Shabbat on Friday afternoons.
He helped them place mezuzot on classrooms, a move which was made as a result of a recent school council meeting.
Now in its fifth year with 150 children, Mosaic Jewish Primary School is growing fast, with pupils progressing through significant milestones in their learning and developing a wide range of important social and communal skills.
In 2015, Ofsted awarded the Roehampton based school an outstanding rating for excellent teaching and learning and significant complimentary and extra-curricular opportunities in a creative and inclusive environment.
