Liberal Judaism’s special Montagu Nights series of events continues with The Secret Jewish History of Vodka.

Taking place at the Montagu Centre, London, from 7pm on Wednesday 21 March, the evening will be hosted by Richard Verber, the Head of External Affairs at World Jewish Relief.

You will get to taste vodka from Ukraine, Poland and Russia and enjoy some authentic Eastern European snacks to go with it.

Richard said: “Many of our ancestors would have kept warm at night with a bottle of vodka while managing inns and taverns in Eastern Europe. So please join me to explore vodka’s Jewish history and, of course, drink plenty of it!”

Those in attendance will also get to hear more about the incredible work World Jewish Relief does empowering people in poverty to live with dignity, self-reliance and hope in today’s Eastern European Jewish communities.

Click here to register your attendance.

The event is open to everyone, whether you are a member of Liberal Judaism or not. All attending are asked to make a £5 donation towards both organisations.

Please email Rabbi Charley Baginsky on c.baginsky@liberaljudaism.org if you have any questions.

Montagu Nights is a series of arts and cultural events taking place at Liberal Judaism’s head office. The first event was a screening and discussion around Steven Spielberg’s critically acclaimed film Munich, to mark the 45th anniversary of the Munich Massacre.
