How can we understand our synagogue communities better and engage our members more effectively, building on the things people really care about, not the things we think they should care about?
How do we create strong communities where members know each other, build lasting relationships, step forward into leadership and find meaning and purpose?
How can social action help us build a more just world?
Learn how to find answers to these questions by joining the Citizens UK training course at Northwood & Pinner Liberal Synagogue (NPLS) on February 24 and 25, which will teach some of the key concepts, skills and tools of community organising.
These will help you to participate effectively in synagogue life, strengthen congregational leadership, promote membership growth and take action to bring about a better world. There will also be plenty of opportunities for reflection, discussion and hands-on participation.
The course is based on the programme offered by the Highlander School, the training ground for the Civil Rights movement, where Rosa Parks trained.
This training is a great way to boost capacity, energy and focus and will be most effective if you come with others from your synagogue. NPLS is very generously offering home hospitality for people who are travelling to attend.
