Liberal Judaism has sent specials packages to students across the UK and Ireland to help them in this busy and stressful exam period.

The packs, funded by a grant from the NLPS Trust for Progressive Judaism, contain items to help inspire exam preparation, as well as to celebrate the festival of Shavuot at the end of May.

Liberal Judaism’s student chaplain Rabbi Leah Jordan explained: “The oft-overlooked holiday of Shavuot is almost upon us, when Jews around the world will celebrate receiving the Torah at Mount Sinai – by eating sweet diary foods and studying throughout the night. Weirdly it’s a lot like exam time, except with more cheesecake.

“In that spirit, we’ve put together a pack including the ‘Ten Commandments for Effective Revision Skills,’ as well as a wonderful Israeli cheesecake recipe in honour of matan Torah, receiving the Torah at Sinai.

“The packs also contain chocolate buttons to keep students going during this long period of hard revision and exam-taking… or maybe even as a reward afterwards.”
