17 February 2017
Liberal Judaism will hold its second monthly Monday morning services and Tuesday lunchtime study sessions for its staff, members and friends this Monday (27 Feb).
The service will take place at 17 Lyonsdown Avenue, EN5 1DU due to the unexpected closure of the Montagu Centre after a burst water pipe.
The Monday morning Torah service will start at 7.30am and include personal prayer and reflection, as well as the traditional Liberal Judaism liturgy including the Shema, Amidah, Aleynu and Kaddish. Those who wish to prepare and lay tefillin should arrive for 7.15am. The service will finish at 8.30am and will be followed by a breakfast for those able to stay. The service will be led by Rabbi Danny Rich, Liberal Judaism’s senior rabbi. It is open to all.
Future services will then be held on 20 March, 24 April, 22 May, 19 June and 17 July at the Montagu Centre, W1T 4BE.
The first Mishnah study session will take place at lunchtime on Tuesday 28 March, and then on the fourth Tuesday of each month.
The group will study Mishnah Sanhedrin, led by Rabbis Danny Rich and Neil Janes, executive director of the Lyons Learning Project and a lecturer at Leo Baeck College. Neil is part of the rabbinic team at West London Synagogue (Reform) and previously served The Liberal Jewish Synagogue and Finchley Progressive Synagogue.
