Members of Liberal Judaism’s youth movement, LJY-Netzer, joined FEAST to cook a three-course meal for residents of a homeless shelter.

As a project for Mitzvah Day and International Volunteer Day, the group prepared the meal using surplus food donated by Sainsbury’s.

LJY-Netzer movement worker Sam Alston, who was on carrot chopping duties (pictured), said: “FEAST is an amazing project that brings isolated and vulnerable male adults into a social space and ensures a weekly healthy and delicious meal.

“And, not only does this project bring people together, but it also prevents food waste and food poverty.”

LJY-Netzer members are now hoping to regularly volunteer at FEAST, which was founded by Moishe House and runs every Thursday. Volunteers are always required, please email s.alston@liberaljudaism.org to find out more.
