First communications away day hailed as great success

5 December 2016 – 5 Kislev 5777

5 December 2016

Liberal Judaism’s first ever communications and PR away day for members of communities was described as “excellent”, “engaging” and “extremely helpful” by participants.

Held at Common Purpose, in London, 15 delegates attended, representing communities from all around the UK, including London, Lancashire, York, Gloucestershire, Brighton and Essex.

The away day included sessions on social media – delivered by Leah Katz, Managing Director of Operations Fleishman Hillard Fishburn – and photography, with tips and advice from professional photographer Yakir Zur.

There was also a lengthy discussion on dealing with the press, hosted by PR consultants Ben Rich, Simon Rothstein and Aaron Abraham – who, between them, have more than 50 years experience in the media.

Yszi Hawkings, Liberal Judaism’s website and eBulletin editor, led a session on all the different ways the national movement can support congregations.

Rating the day out of 5, the average score given by participants was 4.7 – with everyone ranking their ‘overall impression of the day’ as good or excellent.

The event was supported by the NLPS Trust for Progressive Judaism.
