Progressive Judaism (Liberal Judaism and the Movement for Reform Judaism) congratulates Sir Keir Starmer and the Labour Party on their victory in the UK General Election.
We look forward to working with them to ensure that the role of faith in society continues to be recognised and valued, and that all the voices of Progressive Judaism are heard across the four nations.
Many of our clergy have created prayers and sermons for and about the new Government. You can read some of them at the links below:
- Prayer for the new Government, by Rabbi Lisa Barrett (Manchester Reform Synagogue)
- Prayer for His Majesty’s Opposition, by Rabbi Gabriel Kanter-Webber (Brighton and Hove Progressive Synagogue)
- Sermon on praying for a Government, by Rabbi Colin Eimer (Alyth Synagogue)
- Sermon on the thinking of Rabbi John Rayner and the General Election, by Rabbi Aaron Goldstein (The Ark Synagogue)
