EcoShabbat: Resources and ideas for this weekend

30 November 2023 – 17 Kislev 5784

This Friday night and Saturday (1-2 December) is EcoShabbat.

Supported by Progressive Judaism, EcoShabbat provides the opportunity to learn, discuss, commit and act in ways to improve sustainability as both an individual and community.

Below you can watch a video of Rabbi Tanya Sakhnovich – one of the Progressive rabbis on the EcoJudaism Advisory Group – talking about this week's Torah portion, Parashat Vayishlach, and how we can reflect learning from the past to help combat the climate crisis:

EcoShabbat, which is part of the EcoJudaism initiative, is timed to combine with the COP28 climate change conference, taking place in Dubai from 30 November to 12 December.

Progressive Judaism encourages all its communities to try and mark EcoShabbat in some way. Below are a series of resources and ideas to help.
