The growing community of Tikvah Chadasha (Shenfield, Brentwood & Districts Synagogue) in Brentwood, Essex, celebrated a treble batmitzvah for three women who had missed out earlier in life.
Community chair Amanda Burke was the first to be called to the Torah, followed by Joanna Slaney and Kata Roberts.
The service was attended by all the women’s families and friends, as well as the regular congregation. The occasion was made all the more special as Kata’s parents and sister had flown over from Hungary to attend.
