The Ark Synagogue delivered Tu Bishvat gifts to its most mature members to mark the Jewish New Year for Trees.

The plants were distributed in a socially distanced manner by the community’s Care Team, led by Care Coordinator Omar Portillo.

One of the recipients was Walter Weg (pictured above receiving his gift from Omar). Walter is a Holocaust survivor and it was fitting that this year Tu Bishvat coincided with Holocaust Memorial Day.

Walter said: “I am very appreciative of the support the Ark Synagogue, and its Care Team, provides.”

Omar, who is also a Liberal Judaism Officer, added: “This is another example of how our Liberal Judaism communities have been reaching out and supporting our members, especially in this pandemic.”
