Liberal Judaism joins with all those who mourn for Saskia Jones and Jack Merritt – the two victims of another awful terrorist attack on British soil.

Saskia and Jack may never have heard the Jewish term of tikkun olam (repairing the world) but they were certainly practitioners of it.

Both Cambridge graduates, they used their education and intellect for good – as part of the Learning Together programme, which focuses on prisoner rehabilitation.

That they were attacked and killed by someone they were trying to help only makes this latest outrage even more tragic.

Liberal Judaism fully supports the police and security services, as well as our own community’s CST, in both apprehending anyone who assisted in this latest terror attack and redoubling efforts to prevent further atrocities. We also pray for the families of the victims and for a speedy recovery for all those who were injured.
