A new online grave search facility is available for Edgwarebury Cemetery (Edgware) and Hoop Lane Cemetery (Golders Green).

If you wish to use it, please visit www.edgwareburycemetery.org.uk/burial-search/

Searches can be made by either forename or surname and you can search in Edgwarebury, Hoop Lane or both. There is no need to enter a year of burial.

The results provide the deceased’s full name, community, plot indication, date of death and date of burial.

If you do not know the exact name of the person you are searching for, here are some examples of searches that can be performed to help you find them:

• You can enter “Smith” in the surname box (and nothing in the forename box) and it will show all those with a Smith surname.

• You can enter “Smith” in the surname box and also “J” in the forename box, and it will show all those with surname Smith and forename beginning with J.

• You can enter “Smith” in the surname box and also “Jo” in the forename box to see all those with surname Smith and forename beginning with Jo.

• You can enter “Josephine” in the forename box (and nothing in the surname box) then it shows all those with the first name Josephine.
