A team of dedicated volunteers at The Liberal Jewish Synagogue (LJS) in St John’s Wood are rolling up their sleeves to bring hope and warmth to families seeking asylum in the UK.
At the heart of their effort is the LJS Drop-in, an initiative that transforms the synagogue into a beacon of support one Sunday afternoon each month.
The Drop-in offers more than just practical assistance; it provides a refuge. Families are welcomed into a safe, inviting space where they can enjoy a hot and nutritious meal, gather essential supplies, and let their children play in a supervised play area.
The lifeline to asylum-seeking families wouldn’t be possible without the work of volunteers. Their dedication ensures that no family is left without the essentials and kindness they need and shows there’s a community ready to stand by their side.
