Members of The Ark Synagogue have helped to create and support the online project Holocaust Learning UK, offering a unique array of films for secondary school students.
The films – which are available free of charge to schools and individuals – provide pupils with the historical facts of the Holocaust, together with survivor interviews, archive footage and testimony delivered by a diverse cast of student actors.
They aim to foster historical learning and an understanding of the Holocaust’s contemporary relevance in an age-appropriate way – and are supported by bespoke resources and expertise provided by the Holocaust Educational Trust.
The clergy and members of the Ark, based in Northwood, also took part in multiple local commemorations to mark Holocaust Memorial Day – including those organised by St Albans Cathedral and Harrow Council. Rabbi Lea Mühlstein represented Progressive Judaism at the official Holocaust Memorial Day event at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office hosted by Foreign Secretary David Lammy.
