Saturday 2 July: Finchley Progressive Open House Shabbat

29 June 2022 – 30 Sivan 5782

Finchley Progressive Synagogue KT students

Liberal Judaism’s series of Open House Shabbats continues this Saturday at Finchley Progressive Synagogue (FPS).

The community’s Kabbalat Torah students (pictured) will be leading a special service to mark their graduation.

The group were incredible throughout lockdown, maintaining their studies, friendship links and positivity.

As part of the Kabbalat Torah process, they completed the Harry Jacobi Holocaust Memorial project – culminating in leading an incredibly moving Holocaust Memorial Day ceremony.

This is a chance to celebrate with them in person at FPS or watch live on the FPS YouTube channel.

The Open House Shabbat initiative will see each Liberal Judaism congregation hold at least one Shabbat during the year, to celebrate our movement’s 120th anniversary, for which they will open their doors – whether in-person, online or both – to the rest of the Liberal Jewish world and beyond.
