Liberal Judaism’s rabbis took part in the annual Commonwealth Day services in London and Birmingham.
Liberal Judaism CEO Rabbi Charley Baginsky and President Rabbi Dr Andrew Goldstein joined others faith leaders for the service at Westminster Abbey.
Those attending included The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and The Princess Alexandra, Prime Minister Boris Johnson, senior politicians from across the UK and the Commonwealth and more than 600 school children and young people.
Charley said: “It was such an honour to represent Liberal Judaism on this important occasion.
“The celebration of the diversity of the Commonwealth, and how that diversity can only benefit society, is a theme very close to Liberal Judaism. This service was a powerful reminder of these values, especially in current times.”
Rabbi Dr Margaret Jacobi took part in a Commonwealth Day service at Birmingham Cathedral, where she read a passage about peace written by Rabbi John Rayner.
Other faith leaders speaking at the Birmingham service included Dean of Birmingham the Very Revd Matt Thompson, Bishop of Aston the Rt Revd Anne Hollinghurst and Amrick Singh Ubi of the Sikh community (all pictured above with Margaret).
