29 September 2021 – 23 Tishri 5782

Rabbi Harry Martin Jacobi Memorial Lecture

Rabbi Baroness Julia Neuberger DBE will deliver the Second Rabbi Harry Martin Jacobi Memorial Lecture.

One of Britain’s most famous rabbis, and a former President of Liberal Judaism, she will speak on the topic of ‘Why Antisemitism Matters’.

The lecture will take a look at the reluctance of various authorities to take antisemitism seriously, as well as the role of (a) social media, and (b) the left in modern British politics.

The event will take place on Sunday 24 October at Southgate Progressive Synagogue (SPS). There will be a small, Covid-safe, number of people at the synagogue with a larger audience able to join via Zoom. Please contact SPS on office@sps.uk.com or 020 8886 0977 if you’d like to attend.

The lecture is free, but should you wish to make a donation to The Schwab Westheimer Charitable Trust – which gives educational support to young asylum seekers and refugees – it will be most appreciated. To make a donation, please email info@swtrust.org.uk.
