Progressive Judaism’s Student Chaplain, Rabbi Anna Posner, was interviewed on Young JW3’s denomiNATION show.

The YouTube programme, hosted by Joe Hyman, seeks to examine all the different denominations of Judaism by speaking to an emerging leader from each of them.

Anna answered questions on Liberal Judaism, her Jewish values, what drew her to the rabbinate and her role as Student Chaplain, as well as rabbi to Beit Klal Yisrael and Norwich Liberal Jewish Congregation.

Anna said: “I grew up in Liberal Judaism and very much feel that the movement was part of bringing me up as well. I also politically connect to the Liberal movement.

“I went to Leo Baeck College – where we are trained in both Liberal and Reform Judaism – so I do also feel a connection to Reform Judaism, but I’m very much a Liberal Jew.”

Anna also took Joe’s ‘denomination minute’ challenge, where she had to describe Liberal Judaism in just 60 seconds – talking about how our movement offers authentic, modern and inclusive forms of Jewish practice that are rooted in text and tradition.
