Liberal Judaism interim director Rabbi Charley Baginsky was interviewed on BBC One this weekend, speaking about Rosh Hashanah.

Charley appeared on Sunday Morning Live, where she explained the importance of the New Year and how Jews across the country have been marking it in light of the current COVID-19 restrictions.

She said: “Rosh Hashanah is both celebratory and a time of contemplation, of the year that’s passed and the one that is beginning.”

Charley also showed the presenters a shofar, explaining: “This is what we sound at Rosh Hashanah – it is very symbolic and creates a big noise to wake you up and shake you into the New Year!”
