In the unusual circumstances of 2020, Liberal Judaism and its communities are committed to providing a meaningful High Holy Days season.
This page will be updated with the latest service links, prayer books/sheets and other resources you will need for Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur and the Tishrei festivals.
Service information for Liberal Judaism and its communities can be accessed here – and includes details for Selichot, Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur Sukkot and Simchat Torah. It also lists all the activities Liberal Judaism has planned during the afternoon of Yom Kippur including a dramatised Musaf (additional) service, a shadow-puppet retelling of the Book of Jonah, children’s services and a range of study sessions.
For all those requiring a machzor (prayer book), we have service sheets for the festivals that you can read, download and/or print for free here.
Plus we are still looking for members and friends of Liberal Judaism to take part in our Akeidah Project – creating some new midrashim (stories about stories in the Bible) on the binding of Isaac, particularly focusing on the unheard voice of Sarah. We want you to produce a piece of art, poetry or music that gives a voice to Sarah. You can find out more here.
Finally, our latest edition of LJ Today is a High Holy Days special containing commentary, insight and thoughts from Liberal Judaism’s rabbis. You can read this special issue here.
