The Jewish News will be celebrating the achievements of older members of the community with their first ever 80 Over Eighty list, in partnership with Jewish Care.
Liberal Judaism’s interim director, Rabbi Charley Baginsky, will be on the judging panel alongside representatives from all sections of the Anglo-Jewish community.
The Jewish News said: “At a moment when many older people are feeling particularly isolated, we are calling for nominations of older role models from eight categories: war heroes; boundary pushers; Jewish communal contribution; philanthropy; Holocaust survivors still relaying their experiences; legendary volunteers; and mitzvah angels still making it happen in the wider world.
“Nominees can have made their mark in one or several of these areas but ideally their impact will still be being felt today in some way.”
If you know any Liberal Jews who you’d like to celebrate and honour, please click here to nominate them (deadline 7 August).
