An Israeli Love Story

6 February 2020

The Liberal Jewish Synagogue (LJS) Film Club returns next week with a special screening to mark Valentine’s Day.

The club will show An Israeli Love Story, directed by Dan Wolman, on Wednesday 12 February from 7pm.

The film – which is in Hebrew with English subtitles – is set in 1947 and sees 18-year-old Margalit meet and fall in love with 24- year-old Eli Ben Zvi. Their love story is played out during the dramatic events preceding the birth of Israel.

The evening will end with a discussion about Israel and the Jewish themes in the film.

The LJS Film Club is presented by Cristina Galisi, a graduate in modern languages and cinema studies, and curated in association with the Eretz Programme of West London (Reform) Synagogue.

There is no charge for admission but a contribution to costs would be appreciated. The LJS is located in St John’s Wood, London.

To reserve your seat, please email rabbispa@ljs.org or call 020 7432 1283.
