We have just entered Ellul, the month preceding Tishri in which the festivals of Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Sukkot and Shemini Atzeret/Simchat Torah are celebrated.
For Jews, including Liberal Jews, Ellul has become a period of self-reflection and repentance. But many find it difficult to find inspiration.
To help The Liberal Jewish Synagogue (LJS) has put together a Calendar for Ellul – a series of short readings, reflections and meditations. There is one for each day, with the intention to take the reader on a journey and help prepare us all practically and spiritually for the Days of Awe.
