Liberal Judaism has teamed up with Reform Judaism for a special teacher training course as we head into the High Holy Days period.
Titled ‘Preparing for the High Holies’, the training comprises of three sessions and is open to assistants, teachers, heads and anyone who works in a Progressive Jewish cheder, religion school or educational programme. It includes input from PJ Library and the National Library of Israel.
The full programme is below:
Tuesday 10 September at 8pm: Log in from the comfort of your home to join Rabbi Sandra Kviat and Rabbi Debbie Young-Somers and explore creative approaches to the major themes of the High Holy Days.
Tuesday 17 September at 8pm: Join us at Liberal Judaism’s central London head office, the Montagu Centre, for ‘Yeladim b’yachad – the PJ Library Children Service Training Tour’. Get hints and tips on how to use PJ Library stories and resources in your community and engage young families in your area, making the most of the High Holy Day crowds. We hope to stream this session too and details will follow soon.
Sunday 22 September at 8pm: Log in once more from the comfort of your home to join Karen Ettinger of the National Library of Israel as she brings a fascinating collection of antique and modern shanah tovah cards from the Library’s collection to take us on a journey through Jewish communities and politics. These resources are all available for you to download and take to your classroom afterwards.
