Rabbi Aaron Goldstein of Northwood & Pinner Liberal Synagogue has been visiting a local primary school to help the children learn about Jewish festivals.

Central Primary School in Watford invites religious leaders from all faiths in as part of an annual learning cycle.

Aaron – who is chair of the Conference of Liberal Rabbis and Cantors – brought his guitar to help Year 5 pupils explore the festival of Passover, before leading an assembly on the same theme. To help teach about Purim (pictured), he came in pirate fancy dress complete with a Megillah.

Also in the last month, Christian ministers from Derby Road Baptist Church and St Mary’s Church helped the pupils understand more about Easter, while Muslim leaders ran sessions on Ramadan. The school was also visited by representatives of the Watford Humanists.

The school said: “A very warm thank you to Rabbi Aaron and all our visitors for bringing wonderfully engaging lessons to our pupils.”
