A sell-out audience of 200 attended this year’s People’s Concert at Nottingham Liberal Synagogue (NLS), declaring it as the best ever.

The brainchild of Nottingham’s Rabbi Tanya Sakhnovich (pictured), the roll call of performers for this year’s event also included Rabbi Mark Solomon, Bishop of Sherwood Tony Porter, Lady Daniela Pears and a jazz group led by Rampton Hospital chaplain Kevin Shaw. Concert goers also enjoyed listening to renowned classical pianists Margaret Newman and Dr Charles Tebbs, as well as many other professional musicians and rising stars including 17-year-old Tali Jackson from London.

Synagogue chair Peter Gordon said: “Once again our indefatigable rabbi and our social events group have managed to put on a great evening’s entertainment which has also raised some welcome funds for the community”.

The People’s Concert has become a truly interfaith event. Among others it has welcomed guests from all the region’s main faith communities, Nottingham University, Nottingham Shrievalty and the founding members of the National Holocaust Museum, Marina and Eddie Smith.
