It’s that time of year again – when our synagogue and community halls will be full of fancy dress, hamantaschen, fun and games – and we want YOUR Purim pictures to put in LJ Today and on our social media channels.
So whether it’s a special spiel or creative crafts, please send your snaps to s.rothstein@liberaljudaism.org.
Two Purim events have already taken place.
The children of the Beiteinu School at Kingston Liberal Synagogue came together to lead this week’s Shabbat service where they, along with head teacher Carolynne Farrer, presented a riotous Purim spiel (pictured).
Nicola Landy, mother of seven-year old Rebecca who played the narrator, said: “She’s really enjoyed preparing for this and is proud of being part of a wonderful community”.
On Sunday, members and friends of East London and Essex Liberal Synagogue (ELELS) enjoyed a family-orientated fun filled afternoon.
Cheder head teacher Paul Bloomfield wrote the comedy spiel, titled The Fairy Tale of Queen Esther, which was followed by a fancy dress competition and an afternoon tea of hamantaschen and other festival favourites.
ELELS member Merle Muswell said: “It was a wonderful afternoon and always so nice to see a real span of generations.”
