Mental Health Awareness Shabbat on 11/12 January

18 December 2018 – 10 Tevet 5779

18 December 2018

Liberal Judaism congregations will join more than 100 communities, synagogues and schools around the UK taking part in the upcoming Head On: Mental Health Awareness Shabbat.

Taking place on Friday 11 January and Saturday 12 January, the Shabbat aims to raise the profile of mental health and mental illness in the Jewish community.

Events will include wellbeing exercises, youth activities, guest speakers, panel discussions, sermons and services.

The Shabbat is being arranged by Jami – the mental health service for the Jewish community – who are able to provide resources including speakers.

Last year, Jami’s volunteer mental health awareness raiser led a discussion at Northwood & Pinner Liberal Synagogue and at the Mosaic community, while Finchley Progressive Synagogue hosted a Mental Health Awareness Shiur.
