York Liberal Jewish Community (YLJC) is inviting Liberal Jews from around the UK – and their friends of other faiths and none – to join them for their morning service this Saturday (18 November), as part of National Interfaith Week.
The interfaith Shabbat will be held in the main meeting room of the Quaker Meeting House, Friargate, commencing at 11.00am. It will be led by Student Rabbi Gabriel Webber.
The service will be attended by the Lord Mayor, Lady Mayoress, Sheriff of York and the Sheriff’s Lady as well as York Central MP, Rachel Maskell.
YLJC vice chair Lilian Coulson says: “Liberal Judaism places interfaith dialogue and friendship in the forefront of the work we do. We hope to be joined for the Service by friends from York’s many faith traditions. We are particularly honoured to welcome the Mayor and Sheriff of York as well as our local MP for this Service.”
Anyone wishing to attend, and/or bring friends of other faiths, would be made very welcome. Please email info@jewsinyork.org.uk to find out more.
