Kehillah North London will be holding a special service and a farewell evening to say goodbye to Rabbi Shulamit Ambalu.

Shulamit has served the congregation – which was formerly called North London Progressive Jewish Community – for the last 14 years.

The Shabbat morning service will take place on Saturday 16 December, at the New Community Rooms, from 10.30am until midday and will be followed by a Kiddush.

The farewell evening, held the next night (Sunday 17 December) at the Hawksley Court Community Centre, will be a time for gathering, sharing memories, dancing, singing and saying goodbye.

Everyone is encouraged to bring “a vegetarian dish, dancing shoes, singing voice, favourite Chanukkiah and candles”.

Shulamit is moving to become the rabbi at Sha’arei Tsedek, a Reform synagogue in Barnet.
