21 March 2017
Rabbis Charley Baginsky and Dr René Pfertzel will be part of a panel discussion tomorrow (Wednesday 22nd March) entitled The Queer Torah: Exploring LGBTQI+ Themes in the Bible.
They will be joined by Liberal Judaism’s LGBTQI+ project manager Surat-Shaan Knan and activist Zach Polanski, as they discuss LGBTQI+ aspects of the Torah, both good and bad, including that troublesome Leviticus verse.
The event will take place at the Bunker Theatre, London Bridge, after a performance of the critically acclaimed play RUN. Tickets for the show cost between £10-19.50 and more information can be found at www.bunkertheatre.com/whats-on/run.
RUN, by Liberal Judaism’s award-winning playwright Stephen Laughton, has returned to the stage after a sell-out stint at last year’s Vault Festival. It will be on at the Bunker Theatre for the next two weeks.
Filled with school riots, first loves, beached whales, cinema, space and sex, RUN tells the story of Yonni (Tom Ross-Williams), a gay Jewish teenager, who sneaks out on Shabbat and causes a world of trouble.
RUN is being brought to the stage by up-and-coming independent production company iN BLOOM.
