On Thursday November 24, from 7.30pm, South London Liberal Synagogue (SLLS) will be hosting an event titled ‘Syria: how did we get to where we are and where next?’
The evening will be hosted by Shashank Joshi, who will give a talk on the situation in the country followed by a Q&A.
Shashank is a senior research fellow at the Royal United Services Institute, specialising in the Middle East and South Asia. He is regularly featured in the Financial Times, Guardian and Telegraph, as well as on Question Time and the Today Programme
There is a suggested donation of £10 per person for the event, which will go towards the cost of converting the flat within the synagogue for a Syrian refugee family.
SLLS chair Alice Alphandary said: “We are fortunate to have such a high quality speaker joining us, so please do invite your family and friends to come along.”
