Liberal Judaism’s Rabbinic Conference – the monthly meeting where LJ’s rabbis discuss pressing issues, learn from each other and provide collegiate support – is now being held around the UK.

The first meeting in this new initiative took place at Brighton & Hove Progressive Synagogue (BHPS), with 21 rabbis attending including Liberal Judaism president Rabbi Dr Andrew Goldstein, vice president Rabbi Harry Jacobi and visitor Rabbi Lior Nevo from the Israel Movement for Reform & Progressive Judaism (IMPJ).

The next Rabbinic Conference meeting to take place outside of London will be held at Nottingham Progressive Synagogue.

Rabbi Elli Tikvah Sarah, of BHPS, said: “It was very special to host the Liberal Judaism Rabbinic Conference in our beautiful accessible new shul.

“It gave a great opportunity for the spiritual and ethical leadership of the movement to connect with a congregation that is a beacon of Liberal Judaism on the south coast, pursuing justice for all and practising the values of inclusivity and equality.”
