The Liberal Jewish Synagogue Nursery School has been upgraded from ‘good’ to ‘outstanding’ in its latest Ofsted inspection.
Gaining the rank of ‘outstanding’ in all areas, the inspectors praised an “excellent commitment to accurate self-evaluation, which results in staff implementing highly effective action plans across the nursery”.The report singled out the “extremely challenging activities” that help pupils to gain the skills they need for their next steps in learning. It also praised the nursery’s safety, staff support and partnership with parents.
Barbara Fidler, chairman of the LJS Nursery School Committee, described the findings as “a wonderful tribute to our superb headteacher, Caroline Villiers, and her team”.
The nursery is open Mondays to Fridays in term time. It welcomes children (and teachers) of all faiths, but has a Progressive Jewish ethos. The children are taught in separate small classes for each of three age groups from two and a half to five years.
There are a few places available for the current year. To look round the school or put a child on the waiting list, please contact Caroline Villiers on nursery@ljs.org or 020 7432 1286.
